Columbia County 911 can send text messages
of dispatched calls to responders.
Messages can be sent to an alpha numeric pager or cell phone. Notifications will include the call type, location, and cross streets (if available).
Due to the nature of the internet and spotty cell phone coverage, this service should be thought of a supplement to, not a replacement for, your regular communications equipment. You should never rely solely on this service from Columbia County 911 as your primary dispatch. You should rely on your agency issued equipment for your primary dispatch.
This service is not meant to replace your pagers and/or radios! It is to be used as an extra tool to receive your calls and alarms. Since this service depends on the internet, Columbia County 911 is not responsible for lost, multiple, misdirected, late or incorrect messages. If you cannot read your devices display due a flashing display or you do not receive the whole message do not call the 911 center to find out where your call is. Listen to the radio!
