Structure Fire Route 66 Ghent 08/18/15
Columbia County 911 dispatched Ghent firefighters and under automatic mutual aid Chatham firefighters and Greenport firefighters with their F.A.S.T. team at 10:04am for a reported structure fire at 1517 Route 66 in the Town of Ghent. Ghent Command requested additional mutual aid to the scene from Austerlitz, Mellenville and West Ghent.

East Chatham and Valatie firefighters stoodby at the Chatham Fire Station.

NYS Electric and Gas was requested to the scene to cut power.

Sheriff Bartlett, EMS Coordinator Keeler and Deputy Fire Coordinators Hunt, Keeler, Loeffler and Harvey were on the scene.

The Columbia County Cause and Origin Team was called to investigate. 

Route 66 was closed during the incident.

Command reported the home a total loss and firefighters were back in service at 3:21pm.
Rekindle 08/19/15
Firefighters from Ghent, Chatham and Greenport with their F.A.S.T. team were sent back to the scene at 5:43am for a rekindle at the home. West Ghent was called for additional mutual aid to the scene. They were all back in service at 2:26pm.
