Structure Rire Route 217 Claverack 12/20/15 
Columbia County 911 dispatched Claverack Firefighters and Greenport Rescue at 1:49pm for a reported kitchen fire at 250 Route 217 in the Town of Claverack. Greenport was dispatched under automatic mutual aid with M-25 and their F.A.S.T. team. Claverack Car 1 arrived and reported heavy smoke and requested additional mutual aid from Mellenville.

Command reported the fire was contained in the kitchen and there was smoke damage throughout the home. The cause was reported as a self cleaning oven.

One firefighter suffered a neck strain when the ceiling collapsed.

Fire Coordinator Howe and Deputy Fire Coordinator Loeffler were on the scene.

The Philmont Police Department assisted at the scene.

Firefighters were back in service at 3:22pm.
