11/28/13 Structure Fire Pond Lane Canaan
Columbia County 911 dispatched Canaan Firefighters and Chatham Rescue at 2:02pm for a fire alarm activation at 6 Pond Lane in the Town of Canaan. Within seconds it was upgraded to a structure fire when 911 received a call from the residence confirming a fire. The Canaan Task Force was dispatched bringing additional mutual aid from Lebanon Valley, East Chatham and Red Rock. Command later requested additional mutual aid from Richmond, West Stockbridge, Chatham and Tri-Village. Command reported the fire knocked down at 2:52pm.

Columbia County Fire Coordinator John Howe and Deputy Coordinators Hunt, Keeler and Harvey were on the scene.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.

The Canaan Highway Department responded with a sand truck at the request of Command.  

The fire in under investigation by the Columbia County Cause & Origin Team.

Firefighters were back in service at 7:32pm.
