Structure Fire County Route 5 Canaan 07/03/23
Columbia County 911 dispatched the East Chatham Task Force and Chatham Rescue at 5:21am for a reported basement fire at 900 County Route 5 in the Town of Canaan. Firefighters from East Chatham, Red Rock, Canaan, and Lebanon Valley initially responded.
Command requested additional mutual aid from Chatham, Richmond and West Stockbridge Massachusetts.
The Columbia County Fire Coordinators Office and New York State Police assisted at the scene.
Command reported that the fire was contained to a crawl space in the basement and appears to have been electrical in nature.
Firefighters were back in service at 7:40am.
