Mutual Aid Structure Fire Milan 08/26/17
Milan fire department responded to a house fire at 615am. 

The location was 1766 Jackson corners Road in the town of Gallatin.

Assisted at the scene by Pine Plains, Taghkanic, Ancram, Livingston, Clermont, Redhook & Rhinebeck fire departments.

Northern Dutchess paramedics on scene.

The ceiling collapsed on two firefighters on the initial attack they were able to self extricate and were not injured

Germantown, Greenport, West Clinton and Stanford fire departments relocated  to cover fire stations.

Six residence evacuated safely beings assisted by American Red Cross.  Homeowners opened the windows and doors on the their way out to let the smoke out, fueling the fire.
Fire under investigation by Duchess County in Columbia County fire investigation divisions and New York State Police.   The fire is not suspicious and is believed to have started on the rear deck, up the rear wall into the attic.
