03/30/15 EVOC in Kinderhook
A six session, eighteen hour Emergency Vehicle Operations Class was held at the Kinderhook Fire Station. It began on February 18th and concluded on March 30th. Instructors were Michael Stelling and Wayne Gearing.
The driving portion of the class was held in the parking lot of the Ichabod Crane School.
The course covered legal aspects, standard operating procedures, theory and principals of defensive driving, driving safely, vehicle dynamics, inspection and maintenance, apparatus features, emergency response on the highway and driving on a performance course.
Firefighters from Canaan, Chatham, Hillsdale, Kinderhook, Lebanon Valley, and Philmont participated in the class.
