Car strikes Propane Tanker Route 9H/23 Claverack 01/22/20
Columbia County 911 dis[patched Claverack Firefighters and Greenport Rescue at 11:41am for a report of a car striking a propane tanker. The incident occurred at 5848 Route 9H/23 in the Town of Claverack.
Greenport Firefighters were requested to respond mutual aid.
The Columbia County EMS Coordinator assisted on the scene.
One patient was transported from the scene by helicopter to Albany Medical Center.
The New York State Police investigated.
Firefighters were back in service at 2:05pm.

Claverack, New York – On January 22, 2020, the New York State Police investigated a serious motor vehicle crash on State Route 9H in the town of Claverack.
At approximately 11:47 a.m., Troopers responded to Route 9H in front of Valley Energy in the town of Claverack. Initial investigation shows a northbound tractor trailer was making a right-hand turn into Valley Energy. A northbound 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by, Lynne Clark, age, 73, of Hudson, NY, for unknown reasons failed to stop. Clark’s vehicle left the roadway onto the right shoulder, avoided a vehicle stopped behind the tractor trailer, and then struck the trailer.
Clark sustained serious, but believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, and air lifted to Albany Medical Center.
