Battalion Response County Route 9 Austerlitz 08/19/15
Columbia County 911 dispatched the Austerlitz Fire District(Austerlitz & Spencertown Fire Companies) and under automatic mutual aid Ghent, and Niverville with their F.A.S.T. team and Chatham Rescue at 7:20pm for a report of multiple structures burning on County Route 9 in the Town of Austerlitz. The fire was located at Bezalel Gables,1896 County Route 9. Command requested Chatham with one engine and their ladder and then requested a tanker response from Battalion Five. This brought additional firefighters from Canaan, East Chatham, Lebanon Valley, North Chatham, and Red Rock to the scene.  

The Columbia County Fire Coordinators Office, Columbia County Sheriff's Department and the Columbia County Cause & Origin Team were all on the scene.

It was reported that one barn was a total loss a second barn had fire damage but was saved.
