Barn Fire Route 66 Ghent 02/02/19
Columbia County 911 dispatched West Ghent and Ghent Firefighters and Greenport Rescue at 7:03am for a reported barn fire at 1422 Route 66 in the Town of Ghent. Additional mutual aid companies were: Claverack, Greenport, Mellenville, Stottville and Stockport.

The Columbia County Fire Coordinators Office was on the scene.

The Town of Ghent Highway and New York State Electric & Gas assisted at the scene.

It was reported that fourteen goats perished in the fire and the cause appeared to be from a heat lamp.


Firefighters were back in service at 11:21am.
