In Memory - Sgt. John Garvey Sr. Dispatcher 11-28

Last year after Hurricane Irene the Hillsdale Fire Company did a boot drive to help raise money for the Prattsville Fire Company who had alot of damage to their station and equipment from the hurricane. Our boot drive raised $5,000 dollars.

While some of our members were visiting the Prattsville fire station to deliver the check their chief had mentioned they had a unit for sale and we asked to see it being we were considering replacing our current fire police truck. Our members briefly looked over the unit and told them we would be in contact.

The members returned and spoke with the Hillsdale-Copake Fire District Commissoners who were in favor of buying the unit after members took another look at it.

A few weeks later members returned to Prattsville and went through the truck in and out, members were also given the chance to test drive the truck. All members agreed on it and the truck was purchased.

Over the next month the truck was re-painted at an auto body shop in Catskill then taken to Signs By Design in Claverack for the decal work. After all this was done the members spent a few nights changing over and mounting equipment and on January 19th unit was placed in-service.
