At 0925 hrs
on January 29 Columbia 911 dispatched the Valatie Fire Department for a vehicle into the building at the Subway Restaurant
at 1048 Route 9 in the Village of Valatie.
Initial reports were that the driver of the Jeep Cherokee parked
the vehicle by the Valatie Post Office and failed to put the vehicle in park properly. The vehicle then rolled backwards
making a semi-circle and striking the front of the Subway restaurant. No one was injured.
This is the
second time in as many years that this same Subway Restaurant has been struck by a vehicle.
The New York State
Police investigated.
