PRESS RELEASE - NEW YORK STATE POLICE LIVINGSTON
State Police at Livingston investigated a fatal car-truck accident that occurred around 8am this morning on
State Route 9H in the Town of Claverack. 24 year old DANIEL EDMONSON of Wappingers Falls NY was killed when the car he was
driving northbound on Rt. 9H crossed over the center of the snow covered road into the path of a southbound flatbed truck
operated by NORMAN MORRISON JR age 45 of Hudson NY.
Claverack Firefighters and the Greenport Rescue
Squad responded.
Morrison was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for
neck, back and rib injuries. Columbia County Coroner Angelo Nero pronounced Edmonson at the scene.
Route 9H was
closed for approximately 3 hours while State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Units
assisted BCI investigators and Troopers at the scene.
