A stubborn Industrial fire in Columbia County kept firefighters busy for hours today.  The Greenport Fire Department was dispatched at 08:12 this morning by Columbia 911 to a wood mulching plant on Route 23B in Greenport east ADM Milling.

Greenport requested mutual aid to the scene from Hudson and Claverack. Livingston, Germantown and Stottville fire departments stoodby.

Greenport Rescue was on the scene. No injuries were reported.  

According to officials, the company uses construction debris to make mulch. It was housed in a concrete warehouse that was the former Lone Star Cement plant.
