A small single engine plane crashed in a field on County Route 8 near Route 9 in Clermont. Pilot
Jay Morrisette has just purchased the plane in Concorde New Hampshire and was expected to land in Kingston before his final
leg of the trip to Virginia. He told State Police that he experienced engine problems and decided to put the 1946 Air Coupe
fown in a farmer’s field on Rt. 8 in Clermont. The nose of the plane caught a rut in the field and flipped the plane
over. The 50 year old pilot walked away from the plane with a few cuts and scrapes.
Clermont firefighters and NDP
were dispatched at 15:10. A helicopter, LN71, was placed on standby but was not needed. The pilot refused medical attention.
The New York State Police and FAA are investigating.
