At 06:22 Columbia County 911 dispatched Greenport Rescue, Greenport Fire and the Columbia County
Sheriff's Office to a reported accident on Route 23 in Greenport. It was reported a single vehicle struck the sign at
the entrance to Columbia-Greene Community College.
It was reported the lone male driver was transported to Columbia
Memorial Hospital by Greenport Rescue, where he was pronounced dead.
